Please note that some of us leave for our trip to Israel on February 24. However, we will still be having Joyful Life. Sue Kunkle has graciously agreed to give her testimony that night. But still come prepared to discuss your chapter as you will be breaking up in groups after Sue speaks.

Joyful Life will be starting up again on it's regular schedule. Here is what we have for January:

Can you believe December is upon us? Winter is just around the corner and Christmas will be here before you know it!

We are taking a break from our regular Joyful Life Bible Study this month so you can enjoy the Christmas season with your families.

We will be having our annual Christmas Tea on December 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the church office. There will be soup, sandwiches and yummy goodies. Don't forget your teacup. Also, we will be having an ornament exchange. Shannon will also be sharing with us.

Also, we will be going to the Lights of Christmas at Warm Beach Christian Camp as a church family. Meet us at the church office at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12. We will carpool out there and enjoy the beautiful lights.

Praying that God blesses you richly this Christmas.

Fall is truly upon us and we enter into November. God has surely painted us a beautiful picture with the leaves turning red, yellow and orange.

Hello ladies!

Can you believe the summer is over and it is time again for us to begin meeting?

This year we will be going through Kay Arthur's book entitled "Lord, I Want to Know You." This book will teach us the various names of our Lord and Savior. This is going to be a great study as we get to know God even more.

If you don't have a book, I have extra copies and would be happy to give you one.

To start off our year together, we will be having a Ladies Day Out on September 27, 2008. We will be meeting at the church office at 9:00 a.m. and driving down to the Seattle waterfront and going up to Pike Place Market for some shopping and lunch.

For our monthly meetings, we will be meeting the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at the church office at 6:30 p.m.

October 28 - Chapter 2 - The Creator

April 24 - 26 - Women's Retreat at The Homestead

Registration for the retreat out at The Homestead begins on Sunday, March 30. Make sure to fill out your registration forms and get them handed in as soon as possible. The cost this year is $125.00 and your payment is due by April 20.

Check in begins at 5:00 on Thursday, April 24 and the first session is that evening at 7:00. Please note that we will not be eating dinner Thursday night at The Homestead this year. Please make other arrangements for dinner Thursday night and then come join us for a wonderful weekend of retreating.

Cora: Women's Prayer

Hello ladies.

Sylvia Stevenson has felt the Lord's calling to open her home for those of us who would like to get together and pray.

James 5:16 says, "Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to "pray continually."

Sylvia will be opening her house Thursday evenings beginning February 7 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. We will be praying for the needs of our families, our friends, our church and our country. If you can't make it every Thursday, don't let that stop you from coming when you can.

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for the saints" (Ephesians 6:18).

Merry Christmas to you all. I pray that God blessed you greatly during the Christmas season.

Can you believe 2008 is just around the corner? Time seems to fly by so fast.

Our regular Tuesday evening Bible studies will be starting up again in January. From January until May, we will be studying the Fruits of the Spirit. This is going to be a wonderful study.

Here is the calendar for January:
January 8 - church office at 6:30 p.m. - Fruit of the Spirit study (love)
January 22 - church office at 6:30 p.m. - Fruit of the Spirit study (joy)

We will have studies ready for you beginning on December 30. Please look for these on Sunday.

Also, just a reminder, our annual spring retreat is coming in April!

For many years now, I've wanted us to start living out the Titus mandate in women's ministry by sharing what we know, encouraging one another, and spurring each other on to good works. I always thought we'd do some sort of binder-type format, offering recipes, thoughts on child-raising, ideas for blessing our families, etc. But this is 2007. We don't have to use binders ... we have the internet!

I hope you find this a helpful site. The key word for these posts is "practical." Some of the posts you'll find here (recipes come to mind) will seem less significant than others, but the fact is, as we seek to live out our calling as women, much of our ministry tasks do seem insignificant. However, nothing poured out for Jesus goes unseen. If we can offer a solution to tonight's dinner dilemma and in the process, your husband and children are blessed, then that recipe post is anything but insignficant.

As the Titus mandate says that "the older women are to train up the younger women," I've asked the women's ministry team (teachers, small group leaders, and administrator) to be the first contributors. These are women who have demonstrated maturity and who are bearing the fruit of walking with Jesus. In time (and as the Lord leads), we will no doubt extend more invitations to contribute (as our church has many, many Titus women), but we want to get the bugs out first and get a database going.

Ready to start posting ideas? We're open for business. When you join the site, use your name only (no nicknames or aliases, please :). When you post, we ask that you follow the title format you see above--your name, colon, title. At the end of your post, please add a label so we can begin building a database. Post labels will include the following categories: devotional life, marriage, parenting, home organization, ministry, recipes (let's be specific: recipes-crockpot, recipes-dessert, recipes-quick dinner, recipes-budget, recipes-soups, etc. If your recipe fits more than one category, go ahead and give it as many labels as you need), and sister-to-sister (articles on friendship and fellowship). I'm sure we'll think of others, but that's enough for now.

My prayer is that this site will bring God glory and build up the women in our fellowship (and any lurkers out there--we welcome you too! :).
